Biography:

Lindi was born in Bowdon, Cheshire, UK in 1959. She is a professional, primarily a self taught artist with broad artistic skills, taking her inspiration from her journey of life itself along with an abundance of imagination.

Her passion of figurative work is tastefully provocative and her abstract paintings are executed with a very colourful palette.

Whatever the artistic genre Lindi chooses, her
muse is always to provoke the viewer
enough to lose themselves in what they see and perhaps ‘question’ what
they observe in the work, evoking an emotional response;
“I love art that has depth”.

Lindi works from her own studio at Vernon Mill in Stockport, UK.
She is widely published and undertakes private assignments, Corporate and Public work.

Lindi is a proud member of The Association Of Erotic Artists; The Guild Of Erotic Artists; a member of VMA [Vernon Mill Artists collective], plus ArtsXstra [formerly Moving Clay] and works successfully to commissions.

While browsing the net, I was stirred by black and white photographs taken by USA photographer and classical guitarist Carl Volk.
I enquired via his website, to ask if I could paint one particular photographic study with the view of profiting from its sale, to alleviate any copyright issues.
I had reply from Carl’s sister, Claire, who was so touched that his work had inspired me, that she kindly granted permission for me paint this study of Debbie, saying “it would keep Carl’s memory alive.”
I learned from Claire that Carl was born on April 8th 1953, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, but sadly passed away suddenly in Las Vegas, Nevada, on September 5th 2000.
Debbie was the love of Carl’s life, but she sadly lost her battle for life four years after he did.
As a thankyou, I painted Claire a second version of ‘Debbie’, which is hung in her home in Texas.
Claire and I met in 2002 on her visit to the UK. She gave me a wonderful thick book on American artists. It was amazing to meet her and experience how this friendship has grown since that initial enquiry. Claire gave me another photo to work from, which I have called ‘Debbie [2]’.

Debbie is an acrylic painting on Loxley Boxed Canvas.

The dry-brush technique I used enabled me to produce an array of underlying colours which gives Debbie an airbrush quality.

Park House Hill and Chrome Hill are eye-catching peaks in Derbyshire where many walkers climb for fantastic views.
This contemporary painting has been executed in acrylics, using a dry-brush technique to capture an airbrush quality and depth.

This is just one in a series of Peak District landscapes I'm working on at the moment.

Online, it's hard to see but this work has shaded areas which are made up of literally hundreds of thousands of dots!!

My 'Genitals In Nature Using Pointillism' is exclusive artwork and highly collectable erotica.

http://www.lindi-kirwin.co.uk/erotica-tasteful--sophisticated

Humour plays a big part in Lindi’s paintings; her artistic muse is to provoke the viewer enough to lose themselves in what they see and perhaps ‘question’ what they observe in the work.
Much of her time is spent painting tastefully provocative, sensual nudes and landscapes in her specialism of dry-brush acrylic – literally no water; however she has been recognised for her very unique style of sophisticated erotica illustrations consisting of “genitalia, in nature, using pointillism”. These delicate paintings, executed in 0.1 and 0.2 fine-line Pilot pen are infectiously collectable to the erotica audience because of their edgy, earthy, back to nature quirkiness, but above all, they are different and bring a sense of fascination and a smile to the onlooker. Lindi’s confident uses of lines and dots creates a sense of depth, shape, tone and distortion to her compositions. Descriptive language and titles play an equal part in what Lindi wants to portray in her art; a great deal of the pointillism work is deliberately rotational or is worthy of being tilted in order to find something else, from a flaccid penis tree root to a strong erect trunk; with plump fleshy vulvas to leaf-like pubic mounds; voluptuous breasts and torsos within branches surrounded by sperm-like grasses within the land.

“THERE’S A POINT TO EVERYTHING - Look and you will find!”

Lindi devotes time to commission enquiries. Do ask for details. Her figurative landscapes are available as signed limited edition giclée prints (archival quality - Ltd to 100).

You are able to contact Lindi via her website if you have any queries. www.lindi-kirwin.co.uk

::PAINTING IN JAM FOR CHARITY::'MANCHESTER PRESERVED'::RAISES £5,000::
::three times the asking price::

F. Duerr & Sons, makers of jam, marmalade, sweet spreads and condiments commissioned local artist Lindi Kirwin [www.lindi-kirwin.co.uk] to capture the iconic Central Library building in Manchester using the products available from their factory.
Black-currant trees, marmalade pavements, jam and mint sauce buildings, tartar sauce sky and bramleys apples road signs all feature in a mouth watering new painting which raised £5.000 for The New Children’s Hospital in Manchester. The vibrant and creative 30” x 40” painting on canvas was aptly named ‘Manchester Preserved’ and was created at Lindi’s studio in Vernon Mill, Stockport, [www.vernon-mill-artists.co.uk] where there are over 40 practicing artists.
Her innovative painting was bought by the well known THEO PAPHITIS of DRAGON’s DEN and the painting is to be hung at his Ryman office in Crewe.
Lindi: “I do have some amazing commissions, but must admit I’ve never been approached with a commission quite like this one! As I began to work with the jams and sauces, it was evident that each product required a different approach; I used a crafting spatula and my fingers to get the finished result, plus there was a bit of tasting involved!! This project meant a lot to me as my eldest son was treated in Booth Hall Hospital, which along with Pendlebury Hospital, has now closed and been replaced by The New Manchester Children’s Hospital. I know from personal experience that providing accommodation for parents whose children have been admitted to the hospital is so important for both the children and their families for lots of reasons.”

The millionaire businessman lead a Dragons’ Den style business pitch for the four companies who at had been shortlisted after entering the Institute of Directors Award for Innovation, which recognised the most inventive fundraising effort for Many Hands Campaign for the New Children's Hospital Appeal; the event took place at Manchester’s Town Hall on 30th June 2009.
Overall, F. Duerr & Sons raised a staggering £23K.
The Many Hands Campaign forms part of a wider initiative to raise £20m to provide state of the art equipment for the New Manchester Children’s Hospital as well as accommodation facilities for parents whose children have to be admitted to the hospital. The hospital is the largest children’s hospital in the UK treating over 150,000 children a year. www.newchildrenshospitalappeal.org.uk
