Biography:
David Chandler is a teacher and Head of the Media and Film Department at Aquinas college in Stockport. He was educated at Cambridge (English and the History of Art) and the Courtauld Institute under Michael Kitson). At Wimbledon School of Art in 1982 he was taught by Prunella Clough, Chris LeBrun and Maggie Hambling
Awarded the 'Gertrude Hermes' print prize in 1987 he based his early work in relief and intaglio printmaking. The Fitzwilliam Museum Cambridge, the Whitworth Gallery, Manchester and Churchill College Cambridge have collected his work. He has also produced a number of bronze art medals and small sculptures. These are also in public and private collections.
